Barstool Detail

Award Winning Barstool

Product Description

These versatile stools draw inspiration from Wharton Esherick and Thomas Moser. They are one of the least expensive things that I make, but some of the most beautiful. The seat is carved from a solid piece of wood. Each of the four legs and four spindles are turned and tenoned on the ends. The tenons fit into corresponding through mortises in the legs and seat. Those tenons are then wedged from the opposite side to ensure they never loosen and then cut flush and sanded smooth.

The stool pictured above won Best Show Special at the 15th Annual Texas Furniture Makers Show.

I make these stools in any height to match your counter top. I use a short (17" tall) version every day at my computer desk.
